Just 4% of burglaries in Thames Valley result in a charge

We are disappointed to learn that currently almost all burglaries in Thames Valley go unpunished. Analysis of official Home Office data by the Liberal Democrats revealed that just 4%, of domestic burglaries in Thames Valley resulted in a criminal charge or summons in the first three quarters of 2022. Some 2359 burglaries went unsolved, amounting to 69% of all burglaries in Thames Valley.

Across the country, Lib Dems will stand for a return to proper community policing—where officers are visible and have the time to focus on preventing and solving crimes—so that criminals can no longer act with impunity. We also call on the government to stop their infighting about Brexit and other problems they've created for themselves and focus on recruiting the extra 20,000 police officers they have promised but so far failed to deliver.
