Stop the Cut to Oxfordshire County Council Funding
The Government is planning to cut funding to Oxfordshire County Council by £24.1 million over the next three years.
But while the government plans to give Oxfordshire £24.1m LESS money, it expects local Council Taxpayers to keep paying more, telling the County Council that it should increase Council Tax by 4.99% every year.
This is all on top of the existing underfunding of local councils, particularly from the ever growing demand for Adult Social Care, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and road maintenance.
The Government should not be cutting its funding to our county at a time when demand for local services is rising fast, often as a direct result of national government policies.
Let’s make it clear to the Government that they should not be taking vital funding away from Oxfordshire.
