Calum Miller MP has been appointed as an ambassador for a local charity by the board of Trustees.

Chesterton-based charity Alexandra House of Joy is fundraising to build a centre for adults with severe learning disabilities. There is more information about the charity here

So far, an impressive £967,000 has been raised for the project. The first target of £1m is now within touching distance.

Bicester and Woodstock MP Calum Miller commented:

“I was thrilled to be asked to support the work of Alexandra House of Joy by becoming an ambassador for this wonderful charity.

“From Rachael and Ian’s own experience as carers, they have a deep knowledge of what it is families who care for a severely disabled relative need. Providing both overnight stays and day care will give families invaluable support.

“Hearing Rachael and Ian talk about their hopes for the centre is inspiring. They have already achieved so much for this project, driven by their love for Alexandra and their commitment to help other families. Once the mission is met for phase one of the build and we see the centre open, I know it will immediately start to transform the lives of caring families.”

Founder Rachael Scott-Hunter said:
