West Oxfordshire local elections 2024

West Oxfordshire council is a local government covering the areas of Woodstock, Burford, Chipping Norton, Charlbury, Carterton and Witney. The Lib Dems currently have seventeen members on the council, making us the largest party in the group.

Nigel Ridpath

Nigel Ridpath for Chadlington & Churchill

Nigel Ridpath moved to Chadlington in 2017 with his partner, Jane. He is a trustee of Home Paddock and takes part in village life, including acting as Master of Ceremonies at Chadlington's Coronation celebrations.

Liz Leffman

Liz Leffman for Charlbury & Finstock

Liz has represented Charlbury at the District Council since 2012. She has been leader of Oxfordshire County Council since May 2021. Liz has lived in Charlbury for over twenty years, and runs a business with her husband, Mike.

Andy Goodwin

Andy Goodwin for Eynsham & Cassington

Andy lives in Eynsham, is married and has four daughters at Eynsham's Bartholomew school. He’s very active in the community, organising RunWythamWoods 10k, raising funds for the local primary school, helping with the Eynsham Christmas vouchers scheme and coaching girls’ football.

Marie Stimpson

Marie Stimpson for Freeland & Hanborough

Marie has lived in West Oxfordshire with her family for eighteen years. She is a former Rainbow leader and has also volunteered with the British Legion. Marie has a track record of campaigning on the issues that really matter to local people, including opposing inappropriate development.

Paul Marsh

Paul Marsh for Hailey ML & Leafield

Paul lives in Delly End, Hailey with his family. After working for over 25 years for global telecom companies, Paul had a career change and now runs an Oxfordshire based business with his wife. He is working with Lib Dem Charlie Maynard to make our villages a better place to live and work for all residents.

Adam Clements for Milton under Wychwood

Adam Clements for Milton under Wychwood

Adam is a local entrepreneur working with the NHS. He has a background in health and is passionate about community and people. Spurred by the Thames Water situation, he entered politics to make a difference. Adam is dedicated to improving lives and serving his community.

Hannah Massie

Hannah Massie for North Leigh

Hannah has lived in North Leigh for 35 years and plays an active role in community life. Involvement in St Mary’s church led to her being a Church Warden and she was responsible for building of the Turner Hall, the new cemetery and many other associated projects.

Steve Cosier

Steve Cosier for SASH

Steve Cosier lives and works locally. He is a local school teacher married with two children. Steve has a record of working hard to protect the environment, fighting against inappropriate development, and working with local residents to get things done.

Gareth Epps

Gareth Epps for Stonesfield & Tackley

Gareth Epps was brought up in this part of West Oxfordshire.A former local district councillor, his career has seen him specialise in community relations on major projects such as Crossrail. He works advising the construction industry and is a Monitor for the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

Elizabeth Poskitt

Elizabeth Poskitt for Woodstock & Bladon

Elizabeth Poskitt has lived in Woodstock for over 25 years. She was first elected to the district council in 2012 and was Town Mayor from 2015-17 and 2022-23. She supported the community acquisition of the White House in Bladon, volunteers in the museum café and is involved with Sustainable Woodstock.

Dan Coulson for Witney West

Dan Coulson for Witney West

Dan Coulson has lived in Witney for 35 years.He has been an active part of the local community for many years. He was involved with his children’s hockey team and has played football for the Witney Royals. Dan is an Engineer and has a lot of experience in sorting out troubled projects. He will use his expertise to help solve problems in Windrush Place.

Michelle Coulson

Michelle Coulson for Witney North

Michelle has lived in North Witney with her family for 21 years. She is passionate about our area and will work hard for you. She is determined that we protect the town we all love, and will listen, hear and understand to be your voice. Michelle believes in the promotion of people and places. As a local councillor she will ensure that local needs are the focus rather than political squabbling.
