Cherwell Local elections 2024

Cherwell council is a local government in northern Oxfordshire, England, covering the towns of Bicester and Banbury. There are currently ten Lib Dems councillors on the council, and we lead the main Opposition. 

All 16 wards in Cherwell will elect a councillor on May 2nd 2024, and we will be standing a Lib dem candidate in every ward.

Gordon Blakeway

Gordon Blakeway for Adderbury, Bloxham and Bodicote

Gordon lives in the ward with his wife and two boys. With his background in real estate law, Gordon understands the importance of balanced development. He believes in promoting growth that respects the unique needs and character of our towns and villages.

Chris Brant

Chris Brant for Cropredy, Sibfords and Wroxton

Chris has lived in Hanwell with his partner for ten years and is passionate about the local community. Protecting and conserving the countryside has been a major part of Chris’s career. He’s worked in local government for 20 years, including for the National Parks and the Cotswolds AONB.

Rob Parkinson for Bicester East

Rob Parkinson and his wife Helen, moved to Bicester with their young family in 1987. Rob had a career in architecture, planning and conservation in Oxfordshire, where he worked on several successful town centre improvements in Witney, Chipping Norton and Woodstock.

Francis Chukwuma Ideh, known as Frank is a local taxi driver and resident here in Bicester. He is married with 2 children and has lived in Oxfordshire for several years. He studied Business Management and has lots of experience working with business and entrepreneurs.

Grace lives locally and attended Oxford Brookes University, where she studied Mechanical Engineering. Having been born with cerebral palsy Grace is acutely aware of the benefit of allowing disabled people to integrate with mainstream society whenever possible.

Alisa has lived locally for over 10 years. She has worked in finance for the past 35 years, and recently decided she wanted to become more proactive in the betterment of her local area. She joined the Lib Dem team because she saw them working so hard for our villages.

Dorothy has lived in Kidlington for 13 years and she loves the character,of our villages. She wants to help to maintain the local character and develop our communities sustainably for the future. Dorothy wants to ensure the council supports all local inhabitants at this very difficult time.
