Chris BRANT

Your Liberal Democrat candidate for the Cropredy, Sibfords and Wroxton ward

Chris lives with his partner in Hanwell and is passionate about looking after what makes all of our villages and the surrounding countryside so special.

In 10 years of living in North Oxfordshire, Chris has seen for himself how little the Conservatives value the countryside and our villages by granting planning permission to build more and more housing developments on prime agricultural land when brownfield sites in Banbury are left undeveloped. Like you, Chris wants to see our local town Banbury thrive once again with many reasons to visit.

Chris created Hanwell's countryside festival HanFEST and started the Keep Hanwell Village Rural Action Group to protect the village from losing its rural village identity and becoming a part of Banbury following a series of planning applications to build more housing developments outside the town’s boundary. Protecting and conserving the countryside has been a major part of Chris’s career. Chris has worked for National Parks and for the Cotswolds AONB. Chris now runs his own sustainable tourism company providing support and advice for small businesses across the country.
